For this particular role, candidates MUST meet the requirements of: formal CP/GP account management experience, and experience with CP/GP renewals within the sports/consumer brand, agency, media industry/industries. This is not an entry-level position.

A quick summary about the Global Partnership Activation Account Manager role:

The Global Partnership Activation Account Manager delivers unique value to Orlando Magic Partnerships through managing the renewal process for partner contracts and the day-to-day strategy management and implementation of all contractual assets. Primary focus is to clearly demonstrate return on partner business objectives in order to ensure maximum partnership retention and renewal rate for our sponsors. The overall goal is to build and grow our Global Partner relationships by creating and executing a strategic activation plan that meets the key objectives of our partners.

What the Global Partnership Activation Account Manager will do:

  • Lead overall marketing strategy for assigned partnership accounts while working with key internal stakeholders to achieve partnership KPIs.
  • Manage Global Partnership renewal process, including presentation of recap documents, participation in Activation 365 meetings, providing recommendations for growing the partnership, preparation of renewal proposals, account summaries and deal term preparation.
  • Strive to achieve or exceed company and department renewal and incremental revenue objectives.
  • Develop new and innovative activation concepts, in conjunction with assigned Global Partners, providing measurable benefit to each individual organization based on stated needs and objectives.
  • Create a 365-day Activation Plan for each Global Partner assigned.
  • Serve as the primary internal and external contact for execution and fulfillment of assigned Global Partner agreements including Champions of the Community (COTC) Partners.
  • Utilize KORE Activate platform to track execution and fulfillment of all contractual elements & partnership KPIs.
  • Create added value and up-sell opportunities for existing Global Partners.
  • Oversee and execute all elements of Global Partner agreements in relation to digital signage television, radio, social media, internet, in-market and in-arena promotions, digital marketing, social responsibility, and hospitality.
  • Collaborate with internal liaisons to organize, schedule, and coordinate special events and hospitality per Partnership agreements.
  • Partner with Finance department to ensure accurate and timely billing per contract and also monitoring of payments received.
  • Oversee all Partner related activities during game nights in regards to Graduate Associate assistance, receptions, promotions, signage, tickets, and hospitality.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled departmental, game-related marketing and activation meetings.
  • Develop deep understanding and knowledge of partner’s business and industry.
  • Manage partner’s expectations on Magic processes, timelines, approvals and deadlines.
  • Partner with internal Magic departments including, Marketing, Digital Strategy, Business Analytics, Social Responsibility, Special Events, Communications, Premium Services, Client Services and Ticket Sales to create a broader activation platform for global partners.
  • Maintain working knowledge of NBA approval process.
  • Actively participate in B2B events and annual Partnership Summit.
  • Focus on providing measurable metrics that demonstrate ROI for our Global Partners.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What the Global Partnership Activation Account Manager needs to have:

Must Possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing (or similar field) or Sports Management from four-year college or university required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a marketing position with a consumer brand, agency, media/sports property or similar account management position in a pro-sports team required.
  • Consumer marketing and/or retail sales promotion experience required.
  • Ability to work a select number of Orlando Magic games and events (20-40) annually. This includes nights and weekends.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience at developing activation marketing plans, promotions, presentations and proposals and demonstrated knowledge of general promotional concepts and marketing principles preferred.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain corporate relationships, with senior level executives, managers/clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related computer skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, time management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
