Lovingly known as β€œMr. B” in Braves Country, William β€œBill” Bartholomay is largely to thank for bringing the Braves to Atlanta in 1966. This move set the stage for decades of success and prosperity still felt today.

The William Bartholomay Fellowship is designed as a legacy platform to continue honoring the contributions of Mr. Bartholomay while learning the business of baseball.

The William Bartholomay Fellow will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Vice President of Talent Management as they rotate through several departments within the organization. In addition to hands-on departmental experience, the Fellow will also receive executive leadership to develop the tools necessary for leading and operating business within a major league sports franchise.

The rotational nature of this Fellowship allows Fellows to develop a thorough understanding of several areas of business and how each department supports one another. Rotational schedule varies each year depending on departmental needs and participant interest, but has previously included Retail, Ticket Operations, Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, and more.

The 2025 William Bartholomay program will run from January through December 2025. Applications will be available beginning in September 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
  • Work directly with executive team to include Braves' President and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Culture Officer and Vice President of Talent Management
  • Assist with the project management of special projects which may include compiling presentations, setting meeting agendas, adhering to project deadlines, etc.
  • Acts as a liaison with other leaders, departments, outside agencies, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in relevant discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and within all levels of the company
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, multi-task, and demonstrate initiative
