A quick summary about the Social Media Graduate Associate:

Assist with the ideation, development and execution of social media programs and campaigns that engage existing fans and generate new fans both regionally and worldwide.

What the Social Media Graduate Associate will be responsible for:

  • Help with idea generation, content creation, planning and scheduling for all social media platforms. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok)
  • Assist in managing social media editorial calendar by copywriting, proofreading, and scheduling outgoing content.
  • Routinely monitor Orlando Magic social channels, communicate opportunities for engagement and conversations.
  • Identify social media trends and ideate on content to enhance the Orlando Magic channels.
  • Collaborate with Social and Content Teams to ensure that the Orlando Magic accounts are producing fresh, relevant and informative content at all times.
  • Assist in the coordination of social media contests and sweepstakes.
  • Track trends, benchmark brands and report on social media competitors.
  • Create reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Work with Content Studio Coordinator to deliver metrics for weekly content and social report.
  • Participate and attend content development and social strategy meetings as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What the Social Media Graduate Associate needs to have:

  • Post Grad (recent college graduates within 24 months of graduation) or graduate-level college students required.
    • Degree in marketing, communications, journalism and/or sports management preferred.
    • 1-2 years of marketing or sports management experience preferred.
    • Knowledge and proficiency in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media platforms.
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
    • General knowledge of image and video formats considered a plus.
    • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
  • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.

Relocation Information:

  • Relocation and housing expenses are the responsibility of the Graduate Associate (Please note that while we have a hybrid work model, this does require you to live and work out of the Orlando, Florida area.)
  • Reliable transportation is also needed

Working Hours:

  • Office Hours - M-F, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
  • Based on role determines in office and remote working by the manager
  • Most Associates work all game nights (44 home games + playoffs and finals) including weekends and holidays
