A quick summary about the role:

Social Responsibility Graduate Associate will focus on providing legendary experiences through the implementing of employee volunteerism, cause-marketing efforts, donation requests, and ticket donation programs. This position will develop relationships with community organizations to achieve department goals as they relate to the overall mission of the company – to be world champions both on and off the court.

What the Graduate Associate will be responsible for:

  • Build and sustain impactful relationships with nonprofit organizations to implement ticket donations, community ticket giveaways, and volunteer projects
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of all social responsibility programs including, but not limited to holiday initiatives, autograph sessions, volunteer projects, theme nights, and community events
  • Manage the Share The Magic Ticket Donation Program - bringing in nonprofit groups to Magic games to create one-of-a-kind opportunities for those who would typically not have the chance
  • Distribute, track attendance, and create reports for Share the Magic Ticket Donation Program as well as analyze the results to implement changes to the program
  • Coordinate all approved donation requests and track using the Donation Xchange system. Develop monthly reports to include YTD contributions including value of donations.
  • Maintain inventory of autographed merchandise
  • Orchestrate events for the Magic Volunteer Program – Magic's employee volunteerism campaign. Work with nonprofit partners to plan activations and collaborate with internal departments to ensure participation
  • Implement Season of Giving initiatives including Magic Star Tree & Magic Star Tree Holiday Party, Shopping Spree, and Big Give
  • Schedule and coordinate Magic Makers activations in game including securing tickets, ordering collateral, confirming fan experiences, and building partnerships with community organizations
  • Work with Marketing on SR creative service needs and talent requests
  • All other duties as assigned.

What the Graduate Associate needs to have:

  • Post Grad (recent college graduates within 24 months of graduation) or graduate-level college students required.
  • Degree in marketing and/or sports management preferred.
  • 1-2 years of marketing, community relations, or sports management experience preferred.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and support multiple positions.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others for whom you have no direct supervisory authority.
  • Strong teamwork and team synergy skills required.
  • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to be creative.
  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours with a flexible schedule based on the changing priorities of the department.

Relocation Information:

  • Relocation and housing expenses are the responsibility of the Graduate Associate (Please note that while we have a hybrid work model, this does require you to live and work out of the Orlando, Florida area.)
  • Reliable transportation is also needed

Working Hours:

  • Office Hours - M-F, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
  • Based on role determines in office and remote working by the manager
  • Most Associates work all game nights (44 home games + playoffs and finals) including weekends and holidays
