A quick summary about the Digital Marketing Specialist role:
The Business Strategy department acts as an in-house consultancy for all revenue generating departments by providing analytic and strategic support for both immediate and long-term initiatives. The Orlando Magic’s Business Strategy & Innovation department is comprised of the following units: business strategy, digital marketing, and innovation. As a member of our digital marketing team, the Digital Marketing Specialist will assist with digital marketing campaigns with an emphasis on app communications and online advertising. The role will also coordinate project management internally and with external vendors concerning the use of digital products & solutions, including mobile, ticketing, loyalty, AI/chat bots, etc.
What the Digital Marketing Specialist will do:
- Orlando Magic App:
- Ensure the app user experience continues to be driven by a customer-first mindset.
- Manage push communication calendar, strategy, and execution.
- Manage and execute internal app campaign requests from other departments.
- Monitor and deploy game night push notifications and advertisements as needed.
- Assist with strategy, management, and fulfillment of our app badge program.
- Work across internal departments to identify, prioritize and execute new app communication needs and opportunities.
- Manage the App Marketplace including servicing incoming item requests, uploading assets, writing descriptions, and analyzing redemptions.
- Create and update monthly reports and KPI’s that monitor app utilization and performance.
- Assist in QA & testing of our mobile app.
- Online Advertising:
- Manage all online advertising campaigns from planning through execution, serving as the day-to-day point of contact with our external agency.
- Collaborate within the digital marketing team to develop audience segmentations for personalized, targeted, content delivery via push and paid advertising.
- Develop campaign strategies in partnership with agency.
- Leverage internal & external data points to identify optimization opportunities.
- Real-time campaign management based on current business needs.
- Monitor budgets, performance, optimizations, ensuring digital marketing performance meets and exceeds goals. Analyze data and provide recommendations as needed.
- Manage asset coordination, collection, copy writing, etc.
- Digital Campaigns and Administration:
- Assist with launch, delivery and tracking of key Digital Marketing campaigns.
- Track and update project requests through our internal project management tool.
- Collaborate with our Marketing Team on copywriting and content to ensure all campaigns are on brand and messaging is accurate.
- Manage vendor relationships and day-to-day operations of strategic technology partners ensuring tools are functioning properly, performance is being analyzed and that the customer experience is continuously optimized.
- Support the organizations research initiatives through survey design, analysis, and presentations.
- Work cross functionally on reporting and data visualizations to highlight key performance metrics, campaign results, and strategic insights across marketing channels to increase engagement, conversion, improve user experience, and ensure overall ROI.
- Digital Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate project management internally and with external vendors concerning the use of digital products & solutions, including mobile, ticketing, loyalty, AI/chat bots, etc.
- Track action items, timelines, and other key deliverables associated with digital products and platforms.
- All other duties as assigned.
What the Digital Marketing Specialist needs to have:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, sport management or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional digital marketing experience required.
- Utilizing marketing technologies and content management systems preferred.
- Experience in paid social media strategy helpful.
- Have a customer-first mentality with the ability to understand how users will behave within a digital experience.
- Experience with survey design and/or programming.
- Be an innovative thinker who is excited to try and learn new things.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.

- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
