PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for supporting the Building Maintenance Crew in the operation and maintenance of the Ballpark and Administration Building HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

ESSENTIAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Coordinate and perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner requiring the skills of an experienced Building Maintenance technician. Tasks shall be performed alone or with the assistance of the Maintenance Crew, as necessary
  • Initiate operation, maintenance, and repair procedures for all equipment, including but not limited to scheduling, start-ups, and winterization and routine checks.
  • Understand the following functions of the maintenance department:
    • Water treatment, cooling towers, and the two (2) 598-ton chiller operations
    • Building plumbing systems
    • Building Automation System
    • General electrical power distribution systems and coordinate the maintenance of all electrical resistance heating
    • Fire controls associated with HVAC systems
  • Control the inventory of all fixed and consumable assets associated with maintenance operations, procuring materials as needed while aligning with the department’s budget
  • Read and understand blueprints and associated product manufacturer's literature
  • Report all potential mechanical or electrical problems and any unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Lead
  • Monitor the activities of all outside contractors as directed
  • Provide assistance as necessary to other Building Maintenance Crew
  • Participate in Building Maintenance Crew training sessions
  • Maintain efficient and economical operation of equipment by monitoring operations and recommending changes when necessary
  • Keep accurate records of repair and preventative maintenance work using work order software (24/7 Software – CMMS)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisor
  • Proficient math skills
  • Minimum six (6) years building maintenance experience within a multi-purpose facility
  • Previous experience with building plumbing
  • Previous experience with electrical systems
  • Previous experience with cooling towers and chillers
  • Previous experience with Building Automation experience

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Innovative and forward thinker in the building maintenance field
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays for both game days and non-related baseball events as scheduled
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs and ramps during entire shift (8 – 12 hours)
  • Hold and maintain a valid state Ohio Driver’s License
  • Become & remain a member in good standing in a collective bargaining unit, within thirty (30) day of hire
  • Lift and transports large, heavy boxes in excess of 30 lbs.
  • Obtain forklift certification within (12) months of hire date

  • Occasional physical activity such as lifting and carrying boxes up to 25 lbs.
