U6 - U9 Scout/Coach

About this role:

Crystal Palace FC Academy are looking for driven, reliable, and passionate people to strengthen the scouting and pre-academy department. The chosen individual will play a key role in building relationships with local grassroots clubs and identifying talented players at the Pre-Academy ages as well as at U9 level. Alongside, coaching the u6/7/8s. As the club continues to establish itself as a Category 1 Academy, we are keen to develop our scouting and Cat 1 coaching philosophy further.

You will need to have a proven track record of building relationships in the local community and experience of identifying talent in the local area.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and monitoring local grassroots talent to join our Academy by attending games, tournaments and training sessions weekly.

  • Helping to build and maintain relationships with local grassroots clubs & coaches.

  • Writing reports to help improve knowledge of players via the club’s scouting system.

  • Attending CPFC Academy Talent ID events and showcase games as requested by your coordinator.

  • Liaising with your coordinator and communicating your weekly scouting activity.

  • Ensuring you are available to attend recruitment department meetings and CPD events.

  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

  • Be available to coach 3 times per week (Saturday games also)

  • Experienced in coaching pre-academy ages.

  • Be able to follow the CPFC coaching philosophy and syllabus.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.

  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • An FA Level 1 & 2 in Talent ID

  • FA Coaching Level 2 (B Licence or working towards)

  • A Valid Driving License

  • Excellent IT skills

  • Completed an FA Safeguarding Children Course

  • Full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Criminal Record Check (CRC)

  • Experience of working in football recruitment

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Flexible and available to work unsociable hours

  • Able to work using your own initiative and as part of a team
