About this role:

Crystal Palace Football Club is seeking a knowledgeable, ambitious, and football-obsessed Marketing Campaign Manager to join our Marketing and Communications team.

This is a rare opportunity to join a small but high-performing team, one that is central to all the club’s supporter engagement and commercial operations. The Marketing team is tasked with growing the fanbase through creating and delivering a range of campaigns and initiatives, improving communication with supporters, as well as supporting colleagues in driving revenue growth and delivering campaigns for our commercial partners.

The successful candidate will report into the Head of Marketing Campaigns and on a day-to-day basis, will be responsible for the planning, management, and delivery of the club’s expansive campaign calendar to a global supporter base, across (primarily) owned as well as paid marketing channels.

Examples of campaigns include Season Ticket and ticket promotions for all teams, Memberships, subscriptions for Palace TV+, premium hospitality sales for Premier League matches, retail products (such as kit launches), events, venue hire, charity initiatives, as well as delivering campaigns for our growing network of commercial partners.

They will work closely with the Marketing Executive to deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns ensuring audiences are segmented and communicated with accurately and appropriately, with support from our primary data and digital partner: InCrowd.

First and foremost, candidates must have exceptional knowledge of football – and ideally, 3 years’ experience working in a similar role in the football industry.

Candidates must also: have excellent communication skills, write effective copy, be highly organised, have the ability to multi-task, have an eye for detail, have a ‘can do’ attitude, and be able to build and maintain strong relationships.

This role will be primarily based in our central London office but will also be expected to work at the stadium and training ground when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all campaigns are delivered on time and within budget, delivering outstanding results

  • Be responsible for the approval of all marketing campaigns across owned channels, such as website & app, email, SMS, and paid channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Google Search

  • Work with all club departments, partners and sponsors to plan and deliver seasonal and ad-hoc marketing campaigns to meet targets

  • Manage the club’s marketing calendar, with robust plans to maximise key sales spikes on crucial campaigns such as, but not limited to: Season Ticket renewals, Black Friday and Christmas campaigns, pre-season, and kit / product launches

  • Identify new opportunities to grow the club’s supporter database

  • Manage the club’s in-stadia matchday advertising estate, including matchday programme, LEDs, big screens, and stadium concourses

  • Manage the club’s digital advertising estate (internal and external), maximising personalisation opportunities

  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing Campaigns to agree annual departmental budgets, allocate campaign budget and track spend to ensure no overages

  • Ensure GDPR compliance and be a champion for correct GDPR practice across the club

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.

  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • A clear passion for football

  • A Bachelor level degree or equivalent in a relevant area

  • A minimum of 3 years’ marketing experience within the football and/or sport industry, with demonstrable commercial results from campaigns you have devised and delivered

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent time management, organisational and prioritisation skills

  • An excellent eye for detail

  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously as we operate in a fast-moving environment

  • An outstanding copywriter

  • Commercially driven with strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Able to work to tight deadlines
