About this role:

This is an exciting entry level job for someone who is passionate about sports science and strength and conditioning. We are looking for a candidate who possesses a keen eye for detail and a strong desire to learn and develop within the dynamic environment of professional football. This role offers an excellent platform for growth and advancement in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support in the design and implementation of strength training and Club conditioning programs using the software package in accordance with the periodization plan

  • Assisting in maintaining records and documents related to individualised strength and conditioning programs for all players within the first team.

  • Assisting in the organisation and coordination of the sport science testing program.

  • Assisting with the organisation of rehabilitation and conditioning programs for players with prolonged injuries

  • Assisting in communication and coordination with medical and rehabilitation personnel to ensure the proper implementation of strength and power training for athletes returning from injury.

  • Supporting the collection and analysis of data for the monitoring of training load as well as physical profiling.

  • Ensuring timely completion of all administrative tasks associated with this role, including the use of data integrations.

  • Supporting the reporting of athletes' compliance and progression results to the medical team

  • Assisting in the evaluation of athletes' performance by organising and analysing relevant data

  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Sports Science & Strength and Conditioning Department under the guidance of the head of department

  • Assisting in the daily maintenance and cleanliness of the gym equipment

  • Completing other clerical and administrative duties as required by the line manager.

  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in the field of sports science or a related discipline (or working towards)

  • UKSCA Accreditation (desirable)

  • Relevant experience working in an administrative role within an athletic performance environment (preferably strength and conditioning)

  • Experience in designing, implementing and monitoring programs for elite athletes.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • A detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills

  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn and develop in the field of strength and conditioning.

  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in a professional football environment.

  • Flexible to work hours in line with the players training schedule (early morning, evening, weekends).
