Payroll/HR Assistant

JOB SUMMARY: The Payroll/HR Assistant aids with Payroll and Human Resources processes across all entities and is primarily responsible for the administrative duties of the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Process expense reports each payroll and ensure accurate reporting to accounting
  • Audit and ensure accurate timecards in the time keeping portal
  • Audit payroll reports and follow up on errors and missing information
  • Assist with the payroll process as needed including checking timecard approvals and closing pay periods
  • Review stale-dated payroll checks monthly and request replacement checks
  • Assists with maintaining independent contracts for StarCenters and Mulitisport facilities
  • Maintain all paper and digital employee files and ensure they are accurate and up to date
  • File as needed and audit files to ensure nothing is unaccounted for
  • Audit and maintain all I-9s across all entities
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality of information


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a backup for the receptionist position
  • Processes physical HR mail and generic HR mailboxes

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires High School diploma/GED, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organization and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to be flexible, self-directed, and able to interact with employees at all levels
  • Must demonstrate high degree of dependability/ ability to work full-time schedule

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to an office environment, with noise levels usually moderate.
