Summary:
The Life Skills and Teacher Lead position assists with the planning, developing, and implementing the overall goals of the Education and Life Skills programs and activities. In addition to performing the general duties, the lead serves as a resource and support for the staff, players, teachers, coaches, and administrators. The lead takes on a leadership role in collaboration with other departments to ensure that the players and staff embrace the New York Mets' mission, vision, values, and culture. The Life Skills and Teacher Lead position reports to the Education and Life Skills Manager.
General Responsibilities:
Contribute to constantly developing and improving the Learning Management System process, services, curriculum, and programs.
Teach life skills and English as a Second Languages content
Ensure that playersβ growth and achievement are consistent with their needs, interests, cognitive and academic skills
Ensure that every classroom is well set for teaching, learning, and training operations
Participate in staff development activities and meetings to enhance job-related skills
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect the team interests, players and playersβ information, equipment, materials, and facilities
Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials
Lead life skills training sessions, ensuring content is engaging and accessible
Provide individual support and coaching to the target population as needed
Develop interactive and practical learning experiences that promote skill retention
Engage with instructors, families, and staff to support playersβ progress
Coordinate with other internal departments and teams to ensure comprehensive support services
Track participant progress and outcomes, maintaining accurate records and data
Prepare and present reports on program activities, attendance, outcomes, and impact on the Learning Management System
Identify areas for program improvement based on participant feedback and outcome data.
Foster a positive, inclusive environment promoting participant growth and learning
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelorβs degree in education, social work, psychology, TESOL management, or a related field (masterβs degree preferred).
