About the Position

The Golden State Warriors are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated Senior Revenue Accountant to contribute to our finance and business operations. In this role, you will have an opportunity to use your curiosity and attention to detail to complete a broad range of duties, including various aspects of monthly close and general ledger, and take the initiative to create processes and procedures. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting.

This is a full-time position located onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 605 and ASC 606, handling complex transactions and contracts.
  • Perform accounting research and analyze revenue recognition policies and procedures, providing recommendations to improve compliance and streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement best practices related to revenue accounting and recognition.
  • Lead the review and analysis of customer contracts, collaborating with legal and operations teams to evaluate terms and ensure compliance with ASC 606, while advising on revenue recognition implications for new contracts, renewals, and modifications.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and deferred revenue reconciliations to ensure company assets and liabilities are properly accounted for accurately and completely.
  • Assist with reporting, month-end close, and perform monthly duties assigned to facilitate timely close process.
  • Review documentation to support the adoption of new accounting pronouncements and policy decisions.
  • Assist in preparation of NBA related audits including BRI, CFS and PA.
  • Provide input to ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy.
  • Prepare any audit request to assist with accurate and timely reporting.
  • Participate in special accounting projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and integration of new business models.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives, by leading projects to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of the revenue accounting function.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree, preferably in Finance /Accounting, or equivalent work experience; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting or audit experience; knowledge of accounting principles and practices, internal/ variance analysis, with a strong understanding of ASC 605 and ASC 606
  • Expertise in revenue recognition principles (ASC 605 / ASC 606); previous adoption experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.); experience with ERP accounting software, preferably NetSuite
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience in public accounting, publicly traded company or high-growth business is preferred
  • Flexible with changing priorities and the ability to effectively coordinate, and work cross-functionally with different levels with internal and external parties
  • Highly service oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills

Compensation

  • $98,000 - 104,000 + Bonus
