Position Overview
The Greensboro Swarm, member of the NBA G League, affiliate of Hornets Sports and Entertainment (HSE), is seeking an intern to assist the communication department. This position works with all departments for philanthropic events, while focusing on new opportunities to engage the public, season ticket members, corporate partners and other stakeholders. This intern reports to the Manager of Communications, Greensboro Swarm but has the independence to lead projects that occur on and off the court.
This is a paid internship. Intern will be paid $15.00 per hour, with the ability to work thirty (30) hours maximum per week. The 2025-2026 season program runs from September 8, 2025, through April 24, 2026.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, facilitating and executing the team’s community outreach efforts.
- Help coordinate grassroots community initiatives in the Greensboro area.
- Assist in planning and executing CSR initiatives, including volunteer programs, charitable partnerships and community outreach events.
- Support internal and external communication efforts by drafting press releases, social media content and game recaps.
- Research and analyze CSR trends, best practices and potential partnerships to enhance the company’s social impact strategy.
- Help track and measure the impact of CSR programs, collecting data and creating reports to showcase results.
- Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to develop content that highlights corporate social responsibility efforts.
- Assist in coordinating employee engagement activities related to sustainability, corporate giving and diversity.
- Provide general administrative support for CSR and communications projects as needed.
- Participate in the full internship program, including workshops, speaker series, job shadowing, and working on an intern project.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Male collegiate basketball players must have exhausted their NCAA eligibility before participating in the HSE internship program.

- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks when given clear goals and objectives.
- Exhibit excellent communication and writing skills.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
