WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

Summary:
The NHL Social Media teamโ€™s mission is to provide the most entertaining hockey content for new and existing fans.

We are seeking an individual well-versed in the world of TikTok content creation with a strong understanding of the landscape of the platform. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on TikTok content and will lead the charge on best-in-sport, short-form content creation for the NHL across platforms including TikTok, Snapchat, IG story. This position is temporary, full-time and based on the needs of the business. The ideal candidate will have availability to be in the NYC office at least 3 weekdays and work from 9am โ€“ 5pm and evenings, as scheduled. Start date is anticipated for April 2nd, 2024.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee TikTok content planning and creation for daily publishing with an emphasis on current TikTok trends and adapting moments and storylines around the NHL
  • Monitor performance of posts to inform publishing and content strategies and identify attributes that lead to successful posts
  • Collaborate with internal departments to identify opportunities for content that can be optimized into a format that fits the platform
  • Monitor sports leagues, teams, broadcaster and athlete accounts to identify trends, best practices, new audiences and new ideas


Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of social media content production, preferably vertical content ideation, development and creation
  • Thorough understanding of the TikTok landscape and TikTok-specific strategies and best practices
  • Immersed in TikTok. Platform requires intimate familiarity with trends, tools, formats and sound libraries
  • Experience with video editing tools including, but not limited to; Adobe Premiere, CapCut, ClipPro, iPhone editing apps
  • Possesses creative copywriting and community management skills
  • Ability to come up with creative ideas and then be able to execute them
  • Knowledge of and a passion for the NHL, its players and history, with an ability to translate the story of the game into captivating short-form content
  • Available to work 9am โ€“ 5pm and evenings, as scheduled

SALARY:

Pay Rate for this position is $35/hour

Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
