This position is responsible for assisting the video department in shooting and editing video of practices, games, and player workouts for coaches. This position will be responsible for maintaining the video library and assisting with special coaching projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):
Videography

  • Assist with shooting video of practices, games, and player workouts for coaches
  • Shoot sideline (All-22 Camera) or endzone.

Shoot clinic tapes for coaches which are sanctioned by the Lions and the NFL

  • Satisfy any audio or video needs of coaches, players, and staff at the Detroit Lions and Ford Field

Practice/Game Day Responsibilities

  • Pack equipment in preparation for home and away games
  • Travel to all home and away games during intern period
  • Set-up video in meeting rooms at team hotel (away games) and be on site during team meetings the night before a game
  • Take inventory of equipment and assist with loading/unloading of equipment to Allen Park Training Facility
  • Film practice and ingest footage into game analysis software
  • Setup practice field according to practice agenda

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform other duties as assigned

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Will maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and of other equipment, tools, and software being used
  • Will maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of Catapult, and other software being used
  • Will maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of cameras being used
  • Will actively participate in organizational meetings, providing input and suggestions related to Video and other areas as needed
  • Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Maintains professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts
  • Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands which includes working long hours at home and away games which will include working late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays in addition to regular office hours.
  • Will keep appropriate information confidential
  • Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the
    objectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporated
    into the position description if they are ongoing
  • Will advise supervisor if actual practice (activity) begins to deviate significantly from specified essential functions.

LICENSING or CERTIFICATIONS:

  • A valid Driver’s License and a good driving record required.
  • License to operate a scissor lift preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; preferred areas of study include videography, digital media, sports management, radio/television, and film
  • 2 years of professional level football experience in video to include Catapult and DVSport
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
  • Experience with video camera operation of professional broadcast/ENG cameras and PTZ cameras
  • Comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Catapult, DVSport, JustPlay and Pro Football Focus
  • Audio Visual background preferred
  • Must be able to adjust schedule as needed to meet work goals and time constraints, including working nights, weekends, and holidays as football schedule directs
  • Maintain professionalism when speaking with professional athletes and coaches
