On-Air Host (part-time)

🇺🇸 Chicago, IL, USA
Part Time
0+ years exp.

Chicago Fire Football Club is a Major League Soccer team that was founded in 1997. Under new ownership, the Club recently returned to Soldier Field as well as opened a new 50,000-square foot office in the heart of the city. With tremendous growth and expansion, the Club is laying the foundation for an audacious and ambitious vision that will transform the brand and the company in the coming years.

Position Overview:

Chicago Fire Football Club is looking to bring in an up-and-coming on-air personality into the club on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be comfortable (in both more professional and casual situations) on camera, have a strong personality, and be good at making players & coaches feel at ease when being filmed. Given the nature of the role, we’re prioritizing candidates who can be flexible with hours and who are comfortable talking about soccer.

We initially think this role will require around 5 hours per week, with some fixed hours and some flexible hours. We’re open to students applying for the role and think this could be a good opportunity for a journalism/broadcast major. This role would require you to be in-person in our downtime office, with the possibility to travel to our training facility (though not required).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Appear in Chicago Fire FC videos as either a personality or a host, doing various types of videos.
  • Be an on-camera personality for social content, engaging with players and coaches in fun, light-hearted, short-format content.
  • Host players/coaches in more interview-style videos. Direction will be provided here with regards to questions, but we’re hoping that this individual can keep the conversation moving in an engaging but professional way.
  • Help the Fire with their business development efforts by appearing in videos geared towards lead generation and prospect nurturing.
  • Able to appear in-person in the downtown Chicago office, with a high degree of schedule flexibility

Qualifications:

  • Experience on camera essential.
  • A strong understanding of US soccer, both the sport itself but also the culture that surrounds it, is a bonus.

Please note:

  • Chicago Fire FC is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. Our diversity initiatives start with the recruitment and selection process; therefore, we’d like to welcome all diverse candidates to apply to opportunities within our Club.
  • CFFC is committed to providing equal employment opportunity and maintaining a workplace for employees and applicants for employment that is free from discrimination. The Company does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, ancestry, ethnicity, citizenship, age, veteran or military status, disability, sexual orientation, sexual orientation or expression, marital status or any other characteristic protected by law. This policy governs all aspects of employment, including hiring, promotion, compensation, discipline, termination, and access to benefits and training.
    • If, because of a medical condition or disability, you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the application process, please contact the Human Resources Department at [email protected] to let us know the nature of your request and your contact information.
