Position Overview:

Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Video Analyst to join our Analytics team. This pivotal role will involve leading the delivery of video analysis to support the first team’s tactical and technical needs. You will collaborate with coaches and analysts to provide insights that drive performance on the field, while setting best practices for video and data analysis across the club. As the Video Analyst, you will be responsible for managing a variety of video analysis projects, from match preparation to player development, ensuring all processes are streamlined, reliable, and aligned with club standards. This role will report directly to the Director of Football Analytics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Match Analysis: Provide pre-, live-, and post-match video support for the first team coaching staff, including coding, clipping, and presenting tactical insights.
  • Video Management: Oversee the recording, live coding, cataloging, and presentation of training sessions and matches, ensuring all content is accessible and organized.
  • Recruitment Analysis: Prepare and present video analysis of recruitment targets, aligning clips with the club’s game model for coaching staff review.
  • Player Development: Support the development of players by cataloging and organizing video clips based on individual and team objectives, contributing to long-term growth.
  • Data Integration: Incorporate data-driven methodologies into video analysis by utilizing performance analysis tools and collaborating with data analysts.
  • File Management: Maintain a comprehensive library of video clips that showcase club tactics and player development best practices.
  • Presentation: Deliver clear and actionable insights to coaches, players, and other stakeholders through presentations and video breakdowns.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with video and data analysts across departments to maintain high standards of analysis and ensure alignment with the club’s technical philosophy.
  • Other Duties: Provide additional support to the coaching staff as needed, and travel as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in video analysis experience at the international, professional, professional academy, or collegiate level
  • High-level tactical and technical knowledge
  • Excellent Organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all home games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Deep experience with performance analysis tools such as Hudl SportsCode, Studio, and Insights, and an understanding of the performance analysis software ecosystem
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and experience delivering presentations to technical staff and players
  • Comfortability working with data and data analysis software, including Statsbomb and Wyscout
  • Excellent IT skills, and proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience flying a drone preferred.
  • Conversational Spanish language fluency preferred
