Chicago Fire Football Club is a Major League Soccer team that was founded in 1997. The Club returned to Soldier Field as well as opened a new 50,000 square foot business office in the heart of the city. With tremendous growth and expansion, the Club is laying the foundation for an ambitious vision that will transform the Club in the coming years.

Position Overview:

The Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a creative and skilled Mascot Animator to join our team. As the Mascot Animator, you will be responsible for bringing our team's beloved mascot to life through captivating animations and performances. The primary goal of the position will be to engage and entertain fans of all ages during matches, events, and community engagements, while embodying the spirit and energy of our team's mascot. They will work closely with marketing, sales, matchday operations, and community relations teams to develop and implement strategies to maximize the impact of the mascot at events, promotions, community appearances, and other activities.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop animated movements, gestures, and behaviors for the team mascot to be used during live performances, matches, promotional events, and community events.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing, events, partnership, community relations, and matchday-day operations teams to plan and execute mascot appearances that align with the team's brand and objectives.
  • Perform as the team mascot during match days and various events, showcasing lively and engaging performances while interacting with fans, supporters, and sponsors.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of mascot costumes, including repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize the impact of our mascot at events, promotions, and other activities.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with the mascot team, including handlers and assistants, to ensure seamless performance and consistent brand representation.
  • Train back-up mascots animators including scheduling and coordinating appearances at events.
  • Adhere to team guidelines, professionalism, and uphold the values and reputation of the team while in mascot character.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of mascot activities and provide regular reports on performance. Ensure all mascot activities comply with relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage Mascot social media assets related to mascot program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, event planning, or related role. Performance experience a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity and an ability to think outside the box to develop effective strategies.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements for mascots and events.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all home games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, performance-driven work environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and use excellent judgment.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to meet firm deadlines.
  • Passion for creating memorable experiences for customers and promoting the organization's brand.
