Job Summary:

VSG is looking for Live Events Street Team member in a Part-Time role, who are highly motivated with exceptional people skills to be an integral part of TBL’s Marketing team, focusing on the development and execution of all grassroots marketing initiatives that engage new and existing audiences, provides opportunities to drive revenue, and push the brand forward.

Reporting directly to the Live Events Manager, the Live Events Street Team will be responsible for assisting with all community involvement from a grassroots standpoint. This entails the set-up of all grassroots marketing efforts while out at events such as fairs/festivals, charity events, hockey clinics, etc. around the Tampa Bay area.

While at events, the Live Events Part-time Assistant will be responsible for providing information to fans relevant to the Tampa Bay Lightning organization and assist fans with any inquiries they may have regarding the upcoming schedule, events, tickets, Kids Club programs, etc. Assistant will also aid with office duties for the Marketing department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research and execute grassroots mobile marketing events around the Tampa Bay community representing VSG including local festivals, parades, sports related events.
  • Drive Rolling Thunder, grassroots marketing vehicle to grassroots marketing events across the Tampa Bay Area. (F-150 and trailer)
  • Assist in maintenance of grassroots marketing vehicle. (Stocking promotional items, cleaning/organizing vehicle, routine vehicle maintenance)
  • Execution of Tampa Bay Lightning branded promotional activation at grassroots events, watch parties, season kickoff events, playoff events, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the organization’s current game schedule, ticket offers, marketing initiatives such as Student Rush and Kids’ Club, to communicate information at appearances and support the growth of our brand in the community.
  • Track key performance indicators for grassroots activations and ThunderBug appearances
  • Work with Mascot Coordinator to assist with appearances and game days when necessary and capture content for ThunderBug social channels
  • Assist the full-time mascot performer in preparing for games and other events.
  • Assist in creating new entertainment and build upon past successes for use at performances, including skits/dances/stunts, pre-recorded videos, in-arena interaction and improvisation, and off-site event entertainment in collaboration with the Director of Game Presentation.
  • General office duties as assigned by Live Events department.

Qualifications:

  • Must have valid Driver’s License
  • College Students currently pursuing a degree in Sport Marketing, Sport Management or Marketing preferred.
  • Must be high-energy, detail-oriented, team players.
  • Must have flexible schedule and be willing to work grassroots events, some Lightning home games, grassroots events, watch parties, season kickoff events, playoff initiatives and complete some office hours.
  • Ability to excite, motivate, and entertain a crowd – having a great sense of humor is a must.
  • Ability to relate and respond to various personalities and actions and an excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and nights as most grassroots events take place on weekends and nights
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and proactive, yet also be able to be a strong team player and work collaboratively with others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with the different facets of Sports Marketing
  • Knowledge and understanding of grassroots marketing efforts
  • Excellent time-management and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, dependability, initiative, organization, and prioritization
  • Must be able to work in a part-time capacity, for 5-10 hours per week
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds, with or without accommodation
