Assistant, Baseball Operations

Assist with the administrative baseball functions of the Compton Youth Academy

Essential Functions

• Ensure front office is maintained with appropriate documentation and suitable for guests

• Perform administrative duties as requested by Academy Office Manager & Director

• Assist Coordinator of Baseball Instruction with administrative tasks as requested (rosters, lineups, registration, charts, player development plans and scouting reports)

• Facilitate Academy member registration processes using League Apps, management system

• Assist in the planning and execution of various Academy events

• Prepare administrative attendance and membership reports as requested

• Perform related duties to Dodgers RBI program as required

• Assist with Baseball and Softball instruction on-field as needed

• Serve as primary administrative lead for Academy Barons summer baseball team

Required education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Organized, efficient and exceptional communication (oral and written) skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and maintain composure under pressure

• Strong computer aptitude including MS Excel and Word

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful

Travel – 25% local overnight travel expected around All Star and Spring Break events.

Per pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $20-23/hr. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
