Position Summary: MLB Network seeks a Freelance 3D Artist with strong knowledge and experience in 3D animation and design. The 3D Artist will help to develop and create on-air content that reinforces ambitious creative/branding goals as established by the Mgr., Creative Design.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Mgr., Creative Design and the team to produce styleframes and designs for project pitches.
Develop and execute on-air graphics packages/elements for MLBN and NHLN shows/properties.
Investigate new creative tools, workflows, and efficiences within the department.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team to reach creative goals.
Other such duties as required.
It is expected that the 3D Artist will maintain and increase knowledge in the discipline as well as the business on an ongoing basis.
Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate must have most if not all of the following skills and experiences:
Strong understanding of the 3D pipeline and the flexibility to be able to play different roles depending on the project
Advanced knowledge of Cinema 4D
Knowledge of Maya is a plus
Experience using Redshift and/or VRay render engines is a plus
Experience creating styleframes and/or storyboards for animation concepts and pitches.
Advanced knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Experience/knowledge with the use/operation of render farms.
A minimum of 2 years of animation experience or related business experience is required
Good problem-solving skills and ability to do self-directed learning
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be extremely organized, demonstrate initiative and an ability to complete multiple assignments in a timely manner.
Ability to follow feedback and insruction from supervisors
Individual must work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Baseball and/or hockey knowledge is a plus
Proficient in current Apple OS and PC platforms.
Demonstrate the tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and superior people skills required in the pressurized environment of live television.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
Possess visual acuity sufficient to perform required tasks.
Possess manual dexterity sufficient to perform required tasks.
Possess a level of hearing sufficient for effective interaction with stakeholders by various mean, including in-person, via phone, etc.
