Job Title: Senior Coordinator - Community Impact

Job Summary: The Senior Coordinator– Community Impact will be responsible for developing, coordinating, executing, and evaluating programs and activities that are tied to our strategic priority areas and advance the mission and goals of the Royals Community Impact department with an emphasis in Community Relations. The Community Impact department uses our club’s unique assets and capabilities to help address key issues in our community both on and off the field through The Kansas City Royals Foundation, Kansas City Urban Youth Academy, Royals Hall of Fame, and Community Relations. This role will report to the Director – Player, Alumni, and Community Relations.

Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

· Plan, coordinate, and lead programs and events from ideation through execution – both in-stadium and outside the stadium with strong attention to detail.

· Develop best practices for leading community impact activations and provide mentorship and training to other coordinators and trainees on the team.

· Cultivate and manage new and existing relationships with organizations that align with our strategic focus areas, engage in informational meetings to better understand organizational needs, and make recommendations around grant funding and other opportunities to partner.

· Host community organizations at Royals home games and throughout the year to support and amplify their work while also furthering our team and Club’s strategic priorities

· Collaborate closely with the Director to serve as a primary liaison, engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to align interests and cultivate mutually beneficial programs and initiatives that achieve shared goals and strategic priorities.

· Take a lead role in coordinating and executing key community relations initiatives and programs involving key stakeholders including players, wives, and alumni

· Maintain effective documentation and record-keeping practices (e.g., tracking program/event expenses and revenue, document event planning, create event overview/timelines/run of show, etc.)

· Participate in and actively contribute to the success of Community Impact events.

  • Interacts professionally with the public, associates, and fans via telephone, email, and mail, and promotes the Royals and our community efforts.

· Other responsibilities as assigned.

Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:

· Bachelor's degree preferred, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience

· Proven ability to successfully plan and execute programs/events

· Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and maintain flexibility when working on multiple projects with competing deadlines

· Goal-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift items weighing as much as 15 pounds

· Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday

· Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone

· Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times

· Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus

· Must be comfortable navigating the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.

· Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling

This role is a Full-Time, Exempt opportunity that is eligible for Company Benefits, 401K, and PTO. This role is expected to have a standard 40-hour work week.
