The Graphic Designer, Special Project, Brand Design is a member of the Creative & Content Marketing team and is primarily responsible for supporting the creation of graphics and design templates that support our events, and uphold MLB brand standards. The individual in this role will coordinate design production of graphics in conjunction with appropriate Major League Baseball departments and consistent with global marketing initiatives. This role requires the flexibility to be available nights and weekends during MLB global events, availability to travel, and the ability to execute quick deliverables. CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
4 year degree from an accredited university in graphic design, fine arts, advertising, communications, marketing, or related field, OR equivalent relevant experience
Proficiency with Adobe CC (strong Illustrator skills required)
Proficiency in typography, layout, hierarchy, branding, and image manipulations
Demonstrated experience comprehending and upholding brand style guidelines, producing work of a suitable style
Knowledge of print production, file sizing, and image resolution (comfortable working within various print & digital formats)
Knowledge of the current product of Major League Baseball and its affiliations is a plus
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducting Core Work Activities
Coordinates the production of graphics, branding, style guides, collateral, and event materials, and ensures all executions remain on brand
Supports the creation of graphics and design templates for all MLB brands, global events, our 30 Clubs, and league-wide departments
Works with project managers and Senior Designers to understand the project pipeline and objectives
Executes visual direction from Senior Designers and/or design leadership, and is able to present design solutions clearly
Participates in brainstorming sessions to share new design perspectives and ideas
Contributes to the creation of new concepts for branding, style guides, and MLB global event graphics
Maintains current knowledge of design trends and shares best practices with other team members and colleagues.

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $24.00 to $34.00. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
