This position will support marketing efforts through digital graphic design for MLB events, editorial, brand, sponsorship, ticket sales, advertising, paid content etc. The Designer must be a team player who can balance creativity and tight deadlines in our fast-paced environment.
HOURS & LOCATION
Business hours at 1271 Ave Of the Americas, 4 days a week and Fridays remote.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Designs on-brand original content creative elements
Adapts design elements to carry out the continuity of MLB and club brands.
Conceptualizing and building custom creative concepts for sales pitches and client presentations
Serve as a brand ambassador in regards to logo usage and graphic standards
Maintains ongoing internal communication with key partners as needed
Works on multiple design projects at any given time and execute in a timely fashion
Photo enhancement and manipulation (i.e. action shot silhouettes and knowledge of Camera Raw Filters )
Create clear, concise toolkits in Photoshop/Illustrator that can be handed off to our photo team, editors and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
BA in Graphic Design or related field
3-5 years of experience working as a Graphic Designer
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and Illustrator
Strong knowledge of Asana, Google apps and MS Office apps
A keen eye and confidence when it comes to graphics design, typography and information design
Capable of working within the guidelines of an existing graphics package to maintain consistency and quality
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Must be flexible, deadline driven, a great collaborator and must be able to deliver graphics with complete accuracy
Knowledge of baseball a plus as it pertains to sports graphics
Capable of taking initiative, following department processes and procedures. Must adhere to existing workflow and file structure
Ability to work occasional night, weekend and overtime as needed
Print and Web production knowledge are required
Illustration skills a plus
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $37.50 to $45.00. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
