The Graphic Designer, Social Design Intern is a member of the Creative & Content Marketing team and is primarily responsible for supporting the creation of graphics and design templates that promote and uphold MLB brand standards. The individual in this role will coordinate design production of daily graphics for all digital and social platforms. This role requires the flexibility to be available nights and weekends for live game coverage on a rotating basis throughout the year.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Enrolled in or has a 4 year degree from an accredited university in graphic design, marketing, advertising, communications, business, or related field, OR equivalent relevant experience
Proficiency with Adobe CC (strong Photoshop skills required)
Proficiency in typography, layout, hierarchy, branding, and image manipulations
Demonstrated experience comprehending and upholding brand style guidelines, producing work of a suitable style
Knowledge of multiple social media platforms - specifically Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok
Knowledge of the current product of Major League Baseball and its affiliations is a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducting Core Work Activities
Coordinates digital design production of daily graphics for all digital and social platforms, and ensures the look and feel remains on brand.
Supports the creation of graphics and design templates for daily and featured concepts.
Works with editors & social coordinators to understand the project pipeline and objectives.
Participates in brainstorming sessions to share new design perspectives and ideas.
Contributes to the creation of new concepts for designed graphics, templates, and jewel event imagery.
Maintains current knowledge of design and social trends and shares best practices with other team members and colleagues.
Supporting the Needs of Stakeholders
Executes against project plans to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks
Collaborates with manager and stakeholders to support business needs
Generates and provides timely and accurate updates in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
Communicates in a clear and concise manner that is easy to understand
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $20.00 to $23.00. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
