Job Title: Baseball/Softball Camp Supervisor

Job Summary: In this role, the Baseball/Softball Camp Supervisor will work in conjunction with the Manager of Sport Development-Baseball/Softball to create and execute youth baseball camps centered around the growing the game and leaving a lasting impact on the campers involved. This position will be heavily involved with leading camp counselors and volunteers to smoothly run camps and clinics. Camps are defined as multiple day events, while clinics are one day events.


Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with set up and tear down of camps/clinics
  • Coordinate registration
  • Communicate effectively to the parents and players involved
  • Assist with the creation and execution of a daily practice plan
  • Be able to articulate how to play baseball and the different skills associated with the game
  • Manage and oversee the group of counselors and volunteers helping on any given day
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Able to speak in front of a large group of children and anywhere from 10-50 adults
  • Work in partnership with the Youth Development Liaison

Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Aspiring college graduate or has a college degree
  • Have baseball/softball or both experience in terms of coaching or playing experience
  • Reliable transportation to and from clinic/camp sites
  • Completion of Safesport training or additional trainings the Royals deem necessary
  • Available to work hours outside of the normal 9-5 Monday through Friday time frame Weekends are required
  • Able to stand, bend, move for up to 3 hours outside
  • Promote and support the Royals Way of baseball/softball development


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift items weighing as much as 25 pounds
  • Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
  • Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling

This role is a Part-Time, Non-Exempt opportunity that is not eligible for Company Benefits, 401K, and PTO. The schedule for this position is dependent on our team schedule and is subject to change.
