|Reporting organizationally to the senior telecom manager the radio and spectrum manager will be a key member of the FIFA26 Technology team, and work in close collaboration with the FIFA Technology team and other key individuals responsible ensuring all the aspects of Private Mobile Radio (PMR) and Spectrum Management Services are implemented according to FIFA requirements for the associated Tournaments/Events.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities and oversights of the radio and spectrum manager for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:

Spectrum

  • Identify the Spectrum service needs and manage collection of the Spectrum requests from all Stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Spectrum Regulatory Authorities in USA, Canada and Mexico to identify and plan all frequencies to be reserved or use by all the client groups during the Tournaments/Events.
  • Manage spectrum governance with the key partners, the main stakeholders and with the Spectrum Regulatory Authorities in the USA, Canada and Mexico
  • Coordinate the implementation of the frequency plan for all these services requiring temporary frequency allocation, define the frequency provision procedure and the management of requests with Regulator and structure the organization and management control of radio equipment and monitoring on all tournament sites.
  • Develop with the regulatory authorities and/or assigned agencies a spectrum control process to ensure spectrum is managed during operations.
  • Ensure that all necessary infrastructure, services and spaces required for the delivery and support of spectrum services as per FIFA requirements, are understood and effectively communicated into the venue planning process.
  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of the Test & Tag and Incident Management processes.

PMR

  • Ensure services are delivered at agreed service levels in line with Tournaments/Events operational support model.
  • Identify needs for PMRs, work closely with Tournaments/Events Venue Management staff to plan the Fleet Map and validate it with all the Functional Areas.
  • Ensure that all necessary infrastructure, services and spaces required for the delivery and support of radio services as per FIFA requirements, are understood and effectively integrated into the venue planning process.
  • Define with all partners the Roles & Responsibilities, and any other operational process.
  • Put in place the means of controlling commitments in terms of service levels, so as to organize problem-solving operations but also to facilitate any discussion with stakeholders.
  • Lead the Request for Purchase process to procure any necessary devices and operational services.

| Education & Qualifications |

  • University degree or similar higher education, in Radio Communications, Spectrum management or related field
  • Good knowledge of TETRA systems, Fleet Map planning and Spectrum management.
  • Strong Project Management skills, with experience in leading large scale complex projects.

| Work Experience |
A minimum experience of 8-10 years in Radio and Spectrum Services. Experience in the Sports / major event industry..
