Reporting organisationally to the Executive Director, Public Relations, the PR Projects Manager will be a key member of the FIFA26 Communications & PR team, and work in close collaboration with the FIFA Zurich Head of Communication, Head of Media Relations, and other key individuals responsible for delivering the public relations (PR) plans and activities, and for delivering the smooth organisation of all project management, logistical, contractual and financial aspects of PR delivery with other members of the PR Division – in particular the Executive Director Public Relations (EDPR), the Director of Communications and the Director of Media Relations – and the wider FIFA Communications team with the final goal of supporting the vision and mission of the tournament in line with FIFA’s objectives.

THE POSITION

The main responsibilities and oversights of the PR Projects Manager for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:

  • Leading the project management effort that supports the EDPR and the PR Division in the roll-out and implementation of the PR elements of the FIFA World Cup 26 Marketing & Communications Strategy, ensuring all plans and activities are delivered in the lead-up to and during the tournament with a particular focus on the markets of the three host countries and the 16 host cities.
  • Serving the PR needs of FIFA with expertise and efficient delivery, and that his/her actions increases the control over the organisation’s perception by ensuring a systematic coordination of PR activations across the entire PR Division in close collaboration with other units and colleagues – and the local stakeholders.
  • Conceptualizing and delivering project management baseline across the PR division (especially in relation to the establishment of a reliable and updated calendar and the effective coordination thereof), liaising closely with colleagues and delivering according to deadline and budget with the objective of updating all PR processes with an emphasis on modernising and automating existing services and processes.
  • Providing and managing project management across the PR Division in order that on-site production and multimedia coordination, event calendar, project baselines and follow-up, general organisation, procurement, governance, financial, legal (both contracts and interview release forms) and other administrative tasks are handled in an efficient and effective manner. This shall include: (i) establishing and maintaining a FIFA26 PR calendar for all content input/output and all events which are on FIFA’s radar and (ii) collating all tournament (and corporate) requirements into a uniform, global PR plan understood and implemented across the unit/division and the business that identifies PR opportunities and delivers to the optimum level.
  • Support events and projects in creating and managing project plans; monitor and review project progress and timelines; adjust schedules and plans as needed; and identify and resolve issues to ensure project success.
  • Contributing to the technical management of on-site content delivery, related processes and distribution of materials to key stakeholder groups (internal and external), project documents, facilitating corporate planning and reporting across the matrix-based portfolio of projects, including monitoring the tasks and milestones on the project deliverables roadmap, ensuring cross-project synchronization of milestones and dependencies, proactively monitoring project progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective actions, and developing and controlling deadlines, budgets and activities.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications-related activities and/or Project Management or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in a sports PR role with an in-depth knowledge of association football
  • Proven experience with project management, presentation development, vendor/agency management and budget management (required)
  • Successful track record of creating innovative approaches for delivering PR activities, managing logistics, coordinating multiple colleagues and stakeholders in different locations and helping to connect with a wide range of audiences to drive engagement (desired)
  • Extensive project management-orientation knowledge as many deliverables will be across multiple stakeholders at different locations Excellent written project management skills including mobilising colleagues and filming crews so that they can deliver content and messaging and in various formats (audio, text, video, photography, graphics) both for publication and syndication according to FIFA’s requirements.
  • Passionate commitment and enthusiasm for leadership and success in partnering with large teams including PR messaging and materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage relationships with influencers and other stakeholders – ensuring alignment on PR-related deliverables.
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
