Reporting organisationally to the Director Event Technology, the Cybersecurity Engineer will be a key member of the FIFA26 Technology team, and work in close collaboration with the wider FIFA Cybersecurity and Technology team in Zurich and other key individuals responsible for design, build and implement security infrastructure within the FIFA FWC26 environment, aimed at protecting FIFA’s information & systems.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities and oversights of the Cybersecurity Engineer for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:

  • Protect FIFA’s information & systems, while enabling the organization to take risk-based decisions.
  • Design, build, test and implement security infrastructure within the FIFA FWC26 environment.
  • Support the operation and implementation of the FIFA FWC26 office security infrastructure Collaborate with the relevant technical stakeholders to gather requirements and align them to the overarching Cybersecurity principles.
  • Execute the Cybersecurity program across the FWC26 infrastructure. Support FIFA Technical stakeholders to ensure the temporary event infrastructure complies with Cybersecurity standards and FIFA guidelines.
  • Identify and assess information security risks for the infrastructure, the FWC26 and FIFA.
  • Perform spot-checks and provide control effectiveness metrics.
  • Actively participate to investigations on Cybersecurity incidents in collaboration with FIFA Cybersecurity and the MSSP.
  • Provide security architecture expertise and consulting/advisory to support Technology infrastructure and products in designing and implementing secure solutions.
  • Execute technical incident response on applications and infrastructure (incl. endpoints, networks and servers).
  • Provide vulnerability and secure configuration scanning for the local infrastructure and applications.
  • Monitor access to all systems and maintain access control profiles on computer network and systems.
