Reporting organizationally to the Head of Accounting, the Accountant will be a key member of the FIFA26 Finance & Accounting team, and work in close collaboration with the Finance team at the FIFA headquarter in Zurich, Switzerland and other key individuals responsible for delivering timely, accurate accounting services to FIFA26’s internal and external stakeholders
THE POSITION
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Accountant for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
- Managing tasks related to accounts payable as well as specific accounting tasks of FIFA26 Inc.
- Managing payment runs, single payment orders and creditor invoices
- Processing and checking creditor invoices in the online workflow system
- Maintenance of supplier masterdata
- Financial management of expense reports during football events
- Providing support with tasks related to accounts payable and the general ledger
- Execution of general bookings in SAP
- Preparing and support on monthly and annual financial statements
- Account reconciliations for monthly and annual financial statements
- Dealing with telephone and written enquiries
- Assist in new processes and system implementation when required
- Onboarding of new employees
- Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities

Education:
- Higher education in Accounting, Auditing and Controlling (college degree or equivalent)
- Additional certification (CPA / ACCA) is a plus.
Work Experience:
- At least three years professional experience in financial accounting in similar positions within international environments
- A self-starter who is able to plan, organize and take initiative to meet job objectives and deadlines independently
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
