JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Talent & Engagement, the '2024-25 Seasonal Assistant, People & Culture' will assist the People & Culture (Human Resources) Team in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and internal event coordination.

*** This is a temporary position from September 2024 - June 2025, that will work onsite at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse approx. 40 hours per week.

PAY RATE: $15.00/HR START DATE: September 9th, 2024

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with data-entry, employment verifications, tracking candidate pre-employment forms, and general filing.
  • Assist with weekly new hire HR orientation & onboarding sessions.
  • Responsible for submitting and tracking the completion of candidate background checks.
  • Assist with People & Culture special projects (Fundraisers, Team Member Event Planning, Wellness Initiatives, etc.).
  • Assist the Talent Acquisition Team with campus, community, and internal career fairs.
  • Assist Benefits and Wellness Team in various aspects of workers compensation.
  • Any other duties as assigned by leaders of the People & Culture Team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University (or currently pursuing a BS Degree), in human resources, business administration, sports management, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant experience working in Talent Acquisition, Benefits Administration, or Human Resources.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking, as this individual will assist in running weekly pre-employment onboarding presentations for groups of 2-20 people.
  • Must be willing to work roughly one evening per week to assist with our PM onboarding sessions that begin at 6pm (approx.1-2 hours).
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple daily tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, organized and team oriented.
  • Effective communicator with a high-level of emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Eager to learn the business side of the sports industry.
