OUR STORY

  • THE CHICAGO CUBS FRANCHISE is a charter member of Major League Baseball’s National League. Since 1876, the team has won the National League pennant 17 times and was the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles in the 1907 and 1908 seasons. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs made history again when the team won its first World Series in 108 years, ending the longest championship drought in North American sports. Known for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-operated scoreboard and famous Marquee sign, iconic Wrigley Field has been the home of the Chicago Cubs since 1916, making it the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.


HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

The Credentialing Officer will be a primary point of contact for the organization. This role will be responsible for fulfilling all access requests of the organization and its third-party partners on game and concert days. This position will have seasonal credentialing responsibilities. This position will be required to work outside of regular work hours.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders (Cubs Productions, HR, Event Operations, Marketing, Broadcasting) to print approved daily credentials for appropriate access to the ballpark
  • Conduct Inventory, budgeting, and procurement of cardstock, printer ink, and misc. supplies
  • Manage MLB Guest Pass system requests, approvals, as well as engage with appropriate stakeholders regarding specific requests
  • Operate in the Media Window for the processing of game-day credentials to all associates, batting practice guests, and activations
  • Ensures access control and credentialing procedures comply with MLB Best Stadium Operating Procedures (BSOP) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Sports Venue Credentialing Guide
  • Ability to maintain the C-Cure Visitor Management and Access Request Module for the front office
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Assists in departmental training
  • Other related duties as assigned


WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent combination of education and two years related experience in access control management or corporate activations
  • Unrestricted authorization to work within the United States
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks, establish priorities, deliver effective results, and consistently meet tight deadlines and targets
  • Demonstrated understanding of the need for information integrity and ability to pay attention to maintaining accurate and timely information
  • Demonstrated effective communicator both verbal and written, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Internet manipulation
  • Demonstrated ability to create and thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to work set schedule of 6 hours before game/event start and 1 hour during the game/event, corresponding with Cubs games and Wrigley Field concerts


WHAT SETS YOU APART:

  • Advanced degree from accredited university or college
  • Experience with Softwarehouse 9000 C-Cure Access Control
  • Experience with MLB Guest Pass system
  • Experience as an organization’s credentialing coordinator
