The Chicago Bulls are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a Mascot Associate position within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This individual will work with Team Benny in scheduling appearances, helping with video and social media content, administrative duties of the department, performing as the Windy City Bulls mascot (Gus T. Bull), and serving as a back-up for appearances, as needed. The internship is paid and will require additional evening and weekend hours as dictated by the department’s events and game day responsibilities.
This position will start in September 2023 and continue until the conclusion of the 23-24 season.
Key Responsibilities
Learn the dynamics of the character, Benny the Bull, from the Mascot Performer in order to serve as a back-up performer, as needed.
Assist with appearances for Benny and Bulls Entertainment events and programs.
Perform as Gus T. Bull at all Windy City Bulls home games and select request appearances
Assist with scheduling appearances and managing fan mail for both Benny and Gus T.
Assist Benny the Bull on game days (skits, fan interaction, t-shirt tosses, etc.)
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
College mascot experience preferred
Previous experience as a mascot is mandatory
Exceptional communication (oral & written) skills
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Photoshop, and Outlook)
Videography and editing skills is a plus
Willingness to learn
High energy, positive attitude with a creative and outgoing personality
Commitment to teamwork, as well as individual responsibility
Detail oriented, highly motivated, organized, with an ability to multi-task, be flexible and passionate about working in sports
Ability to work nontraditional hours in a fast pace, ever changing environment
Valid Driver’s License and the ability to drive a company vehicle
