The Chicago Bulls organization is seeking to hire a licensed massage therapist (LMT), for a full-time position. The LMT will report directly to the Director of Performance Health and work in collaboration with the team’s performance health staff including, but not limited to physical therapists, athletic trainers, strength coaches and chiropractors. The LMT will work directly with players to provide targeted interventions including but not limited to both soft tissue and joint related restrictions and in the support the preventative care, acute and chronic injury treatments and recovery all with the goal of optimizing performance and improving global health. The LMT must also excel in their ability to communicate with the other members of the performance health team to ensure that additional assessments or interventions are not indicated. The LMT will be required to work effectively in a team environment and independently when required.
Responsibilities:
In coordination with Performance Health staff, schedule and manage daily massage therapy schedules for Bulls players both before and after practices and games.
Maintain detailed records of daily interventions.
Communicate openly and regularly with other members of the Performance Health staff.
Manage all supplies and budget related to massage therapy.
Potentially manage additional LMT’s when needed.
Requirements:
Graduate of accredited massage therapy school
Current Illinois State License in Massage Therapy
5-8 years of work experience (preferably with high-level, elite sports teams/individuals)
Able to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as well as travel with the team.
Excellent communication skills across multiple domains including but not limited to player, coaching staff, and management when appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in health science related field
Additional licensures or credentials in additional health related field
10 years or more of professional experience with 3-5 years in professional sports
Experience with techniques including but not limited to neuromuscular therapy, lymphatic drainage, cupping, trigger point therapy.
