The Washington Commanders is currently seeking a Director, People Operations to join our team! This role reports directly to the Chief People Officer and will be responsible for serving as a strategic partner to business leaders and departments as an advisor on employee experience initiatives including employee relations, learning, development, coaching, program development, and recruiting.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with executives and leaders in aligning people practices (such as talent identification and development, employee engagement, and performance management) to business strategy.
  • Lead recruiting, employee engagement, and employee/manager development initiatives for the organization.
  • Manage and facilitate performance management cycle.
  • Manage College Recruiting and Internship programs
  • Analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) and talent management system.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, and training initiatives to support the organizations human resource strategy needs.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness strategies for the business including organization planning, talent assessment, change management and team building.
  • Enhance employee experience programs through educational events, team-building, talent development, and celebrations.
  • Proactively stays informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; graduate degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of human resources management experience.
  • Demonstrated mastery of cross-functional HR and experience influencing and strategically solving complex problems.
  • Demonstrated experience learning and leading in a dynamic environment and to cultivate relationships across teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and strategically solve problems.
  • Consulting, coaching and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working with sales or revenue generating teams a plus.
  • Experience using data to identify insights that drive action.
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Proficiency with HRIS; Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Employee engagement software experience highly preferred.
