Director, Capital Projects, Procurement and Contracts
RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role focuses on coordinating procurement processes for team CAPEX projects while communicating the entire timeline of the project, from initial intake and strategy through RFP process, bid awarding, project body execution, and punch/handover. Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Assist with managing multiple capital projects with diligence and commitment to a high standard of quality.
  • Coordinating contractors, consultants, and engineers.
  • Direct management of general contractors including budget, schedule, and quality control.
  • Direct management of drafting RFPs, bid review, and responding to RFI’s as it pertains to the general contractor/vendor selection process.
  • Analyzing and estimating project costs for concept design, design documentation, fabrication, construction, labor, equipment, travel, etc.
  • Capital and non-capital project budget tracking and forecasting.
  • Monitoring progress of construction phases of all projects in compliance with construction timelines.
  • Managing correspondence with clients, vendors, consultants, stadium departments, construction teams, and other personnel involved in projects.
  • Project handover and close-out.
  • Maintain weekly reporting and metrics to update executive management and cross-functional team members on the project status.
  • Reviewing and researching state and local code compliances.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activity to ensure future provisions for benchmarking.
  • Liaise with staff at all levels to ensure seamless integration and operation, whilst achieving value for money.
  • Understand and have the ability to obtain permits, licenses, and any other local authority permissions in relation to team projects.
  • Managing people on the team, vendors and clients and their expectations.
  • Executing site surveys when needed.
  • Assisting the Operations department with major events and game day operations.
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks as assigned by SVP of Operations & Sr. Director of Operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Architectural Project Management, Construction Project Management, Capital Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience as a Project Manager or Capital Procurement Officer in a related field (Sporting venues, Construction, Capital Restoration Architecture, Interiors, Hospitality, etc.)

B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Creative, organized problem solver with excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret construction documents, construction data, engineering calculations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup
  • Ability to work collaboratively internally and with outside consultants and Clients
  • Strong skill set in Excel / Google Sheets, Word / Pages, Keynote / PowerPoint / Slides
  • Familiarity / proficiency in Project Management Applications
  • Must have strong time-management and people management skills
  • Must have the ability to navigate tight deadlines
  • Experience drafting commercial construction documents preferred
