Sheffield United Football Club are looking for two Landscapes Operatives! The successful candidates will have a passion for maintaining a safe and clean environment for staff, supporters and visitors alike. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential to be successful within this role. Acting as assistance to our sports pitch team for a multitude of duties and having continual commitment to professional development and training, these roles will hold a pivotal position within our Facilities Department.
Role Responsibilities:
- Carry out general landscape maintenance duties including but not exclusive to, hedge trimming, tree maintenance, leaf collection, grass strimming, grass mowing, weed clearance, planting and pruning.
- Assist sport pitch team when required with general grounds duties, marking the pitches, match preparations, carrying out fertiliser programmes and any other responsibilities reasonably required.
- Ensure machinery is maintained and serviced to an acceptable standard.
- Support the end of season/closed-season pitch renovation programme.
- Assist sport pitch team when required with ensuring pitches are appropriately prepared in a timely manner so ready for training.
- Attend any continual professional development and training courses as directed by your Line Manager.
- Any other duties as reasonably required and/or requested by your Line Manager.
Club Wide Responsibilities:
- Any other tasks as deemed reasonable by management.

Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Qualified with a relevant NVQ Level 2 in a Land based Services or Horticulture subject.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work within a team to achieve the desired standards.
- Able to work effectively independently using own initiative.
Desirable Criteria for the Role:
- Experience in working on professional sports pitches.
- PA1, 2a and 6 Spraying certificates are desirable.
