WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The NHL is looking for an Information Security leader who is capable of effectively operating in multiple domains. The ideal candidate should be well versed in the theory and practice of application, data, identity, network, and systems security. In addition, working knowledge regarding the secure management and operation of various IT and Security platforms is desired. The VP of IT & Security will report to the CISO and be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Information Security team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead teams that secure our on-premise and cloud application, infrastructure, and operations platforms.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of the Identity and Access Management domain including Zero Trust, Authentication, Authorization, Access, entitlements, and other related information security principles.
  • Support the NHL’s adoption of IAM services in the cloud and holistic digital transformation.
  • Maintain continual awareness of vulnerabilities, mitigations, and attack techniques while partnering with other departments to address vulnerability management requirements.
  • Build productive relationships with key business stakeholders, project teams, operational teams, services providers, partners, and vendors while furthering information security initiatives.
  • Produce comprehensive and executive reporting regarding all aspects of the Information Security program and various IT systems.


QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required

  • At least 8 years of practical experience in the desired domains including application, data, identity, network, and systems security.
  • At least 4 years of experience leading a multifaceted information security team. (appsec, websec, secops, IAM, IR, GRC, and VM)
  • Experience implementing and managing the security of cloud IaaS, PaaS, SaaS services such as AWS (GuardDuty), Office 365 (Defender for 365), and ServiceNow (IRM and Secops).
  • Experience aggregating, analyzing, monitoring, and querying various log sources for operational data and security intelligence (SQL a plus).
  • Experience securing large data sets in databases, data lakes, and data warehouses (Snowflake a plus).
  • Experience with cloud-native application and platform development, especially within zero trust architectures.
  • Experience integrating on-premise and cloud infrastructure using various Identity Providers, IDP, into a unified Identity Management, IDM, platform.
  • Significant experience with implementing, managing, and securing IAM / IDP platforms such as Azure Active Directory, CyberArk, and Okta.

SALARY RANGE:

$220-260K

Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
