SUMMARY
The Junior Graphic Designer will play a key role in supporting our Communications design team by assisting in the creation/maintenance of templates, visualizing statistics, and designing engaging social media content. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about design, has an interest in sports, and is eager to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Template Creation: Develop and maintain a library of design templates for various needs, including national tune-in graphics, promotional materials, and event collateral.
· Statistical Storytelling: Assist in designing infographics and visual representations of hockey statistics to enhance fan engagement and understanding of game data.
· Social Media Design: Create eye-catching and effective graphics for social media platforms to promote league events, highlight player achievements, and engage with fans.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the Communications creative team to ensure that all designs align with the league’s brand guidelines and strategic goals.
· File Management: Organize and maintain digital files and design assets to ensure easy access and efficient workflow.
· Feedback Implementation: Incorporate feedback from team members across various departments to refine and improve design outputs.

QUALIFICATIONS
o Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
o Basic understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
o Ability to create and work with design templates.
o Familiarity with creating infographics and data visualization.
o Knowledge of social media design best practices.
o Experience or interest in motion design and video editing is preferred but not required.
o Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
o Effective communication skills and willingness to learn from feedback.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
· Some experience in graphic design either through internships, freelance work, or personal projects is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Superior English communication skills (verbal & written). Bilingualism (French) is an additional asset.
