Academy Education and Player Care Tutor

As the Academy Education and Player Care Tutor, you will consistently deliver outstanding teaching and learning when delivering the Post-16 education programme to our Academy Scholars. The position will include the delivery of BTEC Level 3 in Sporting Excellence and Performance. You will ensure players make progress towards their target grades in each qualification, whilst also providing excellent pastoral support. The successful candidate will be an essential part of the pastoral team, supporting off-pitch development holistically. This includes our life-skills programme and working effectively with several different stakeholder’s including parents and players. Working within the pastoral team, the role incudes taking a lead on Foundation phase (age 9-12) education and player-care.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- To help ensure the Academy Mission is achieved

- To deliver the BTEC Level 3 in Sporting Excellence and Performance and an A Level subject

- Committed to working at least one evening a week as part of allocated weekly hours.

- To plan and deliver outstanding lessons and ensure that all learners make progress

- To help develop and create department resources including schemes of learning

- To monitor and assess progress of Academy Scholars

- To help maintain the highest standards of behaviour for learning amongst our learners

- To promote a positive learning environment and help support our learners develop leadership skills.

- To take ownership of self-development and actively engage in development opportunities

- To attend League meetings and training, including standardisation and assessor meetings

- To hold regular reviews with academy players and parents

- To support the dual career pathways for Professional Development Phase players

- To support Youth Development and Professional Development Phase Players plan for University and the world of work, including UCAS applications

- To support the Transition Strategy and help further develop exit pathways for players across the different phases

- To support the Youth Development Phase Compensatory Education Programme

- To lead on the education provision for the Foundation Phase and to be the main point of contact for Foundation Phase Parents and Schools

- To manage and deliver Foundation Phase specific projects and competitions (e.g Young Writers Competition)

- To complete school visits across the Foundation Phase and Youth Development Phase

- To support the Education Departments compliance with the Elite Player Performance Plan and League quality visits

- To support the delivery of the Academy Player-Voice Programme

- To support the delivery of the Academy’s Life Plan

- To support on Player and Parent Voice opportunities

- To work with the Director of Safeguarding and Inclusion and Academy Player Care Manager care to help embed the clubs’ strategy on equality, diversity and inclusion across the Academy

- Support with PDP Match Day operations as directed

- Support the development of the alumni programme

SAFEGUARDING
