Academy Coaching Manager (U9 - U13

The positions purpose is to play a leading role in the management and development of Academy Coaching Staff across the U9s-U13s Age Groups, supporting the people, processes and programmes that enable the Academy to achieves it’s stated aims.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

People Management

Line manage all U9s-U13s Coaches, closely supporting and aligning the work of the Head Coaches across these age groups.

Maintain a ‘live’ training needs analysis (TNA) for all U9s-U13s coaches across all required qualification areas in line with the PGAAC audit.

Lead the succession planning, identification and recruitment of new coaching staff into the U9s-U13s age groups.

Appraise all U9s-U13s coaching staff on an on-going basis, providing feedback and direction on key aspects of our work.

Coach Development

Engage in and develop an individualised coach development process with each coach and coaching pair across the U9s-U13s, developing safe, trusting, resilient and honest relationships with coaches.

Regularly engage in reflective conversations with coaches around the alignment between their stated goals, their coaching practice and their journey towards skillfullness.

Support coaches to engage with, and strategise around, the work of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Contribute to the existance of an outstanding learning environment where people take responsibility for their work (and development), enabling learning to occure from and through everyday experiences.

Programme Management & Development

Alongside the Head of Academy Coaching, lead the design and development of the Academy Coaching Programme for U9s-U13s.

Oversee the effective communication to players, their families and the wider Academy and Club on all U9-U13 activity.

Establish and develop collaborative working relationships with Multi-Disciplinary leads for Talent ID, Performance, Insights, Player Care and Education, across the U9s-U13s.

Develop an ever increasing awareness of the YDP programme, in order to understand the landscape that U11s-U13s are travelling towards.

Work with the Academy Insights Manager to identify areas of research that support staff and or programme development.

Contribute to the Academy Performance Plan (APP), specifically the Academy Technical Plan.

Deliver coaching sessions and matchdays, and attend Tours, as and when required across the Academy pathway.

Personal Development

Develop and sustain a self-development plan to ensure knowledge (in relation to all aspects of football, coaching, people management and coach development) is continually being acquired, developed and or refined.

Attendance on either of the Premier League’s development programmes for Coach Development (Future Coach Developer or Elite Heads of Coaching).

SAFEGUARDING

Fulham Football Club acknowledges that everyone has a responsibility for the wellbeing and safety of children, young people

and adults at risk who are under the Club’s care or utilising the Club’s facilities.

As part of Fulham Football Club’s commitment to providing a safe environment for children and adults at risk the Club

requires all staff in child, young person and ‘adult at risk’ facing roles:

• To be clear about the clubs responsibilities when running activities for these groups;

• Will have read and understood the suite of safeguarding policies including safeguarding children policy, adults at risk

policy, anti-bullying policy, whistleblowing and equality policy;

• Understand and promote staff and players code of conduct;

• Will understand how to refer a concern;

• To be consistent role models;

• To complete the Fulham safer Working Practice Workshop as part of induction and the FA Safeguarding Children

workshop; and

• To monitor repeated incidents of poor behaviour and liaise with their DSO or Head of Safeguarding.
