Coordinator, Tournament Series - Children's Health StarCenter

JOB SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for the coordination and management of all aspects of the Dallas Stars Tournament Series and other amateur sporting events to be hosted in the Childrenโ€™s Health StarCenter facilities, Comerica Center as well as other partnered facilities in the Southwest region and throughout the United States. This position is eligible for partial remote work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and oversee tournament and event logistics, including tournament operations, parties, venue-specific considerations, vendors, programs, catering and marketing
  • Set-up, operations, and tear down of tournament series and related events
  • Price, order, and distribute items required for the tournament series & related events
  • Assist with event expense tracking, accounts receivable, and invoices
  • Develop ideas to use for promotions across all digital and social media platforms including creation of marketing collateral, digital ads, and website content
  • Manage all exterior communication via MailChimp and other marketing channels and assist with interior communication as it relates to the on-site operation in our respective buildings
  • Be present at all Tournament Committee and/or required inter-company meetings


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to work in office and remotely with limited to no supervision
  • Previous experience in event planning or project coordination/management a plus
  • Experience with social media, website/online content, and form development platforms preferred
  • Outstanding interpersonal and effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to travel, as required
  • Ability to work unsupervised at nights, weekends, holidays, and special events


Physical Demands and Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to an office and rink environment, with noise levels usually moderate.
