Summary

The Columbus Blue Jackets are seeking a passionate and skilled Video Producer/Editor to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be an integral part of creating compelling video content that captures the excitement of Blue Jackets hockey, both on and off the ice. You will be responsible for the full production cycle, from conceptualization and shooting to editing and post-production, ensuring high-quality deliverables that engage our fans and promote the team.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production:

  • Shoot home and away games, practices, community events, and other team activities as assigned.
  • Develop creative video concepts that align with team objectives and resonate with our audience.
  • Plan and execute video shoots, including scripting, storyboarding, location scouting, and crew coordination.
  • Manage on-site production, overseeing lighting, audio, and camera operation to ensure professional quality.


Editing:

  • Edit and produce in-game video content that fulfills sponsorship obligations and enhances the fan experience.
  • Transform raw footage into polished final products, incorporating graphics, music, and sound effects to create impactful storytelling.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review and refine edits, ensuring alignment with project goals and brand guidelines.
  • Maintain organized video archives for easy access and retrieval.


Post-Production:

  • Utilize color grading, audio mixing, and other post-production techniques to elevate the quality of final deliverables.
  • Deliver all content on time and in adherence to technical specifications and brand standards.

Collaboration:

  • Partner with marketing, social media, partnership and other departments to create integrated video content that supports broader team campaigns.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and strategies for upcoming projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends, software, and techniques to continually enhance the production process.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Communications, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience as a video producer/editor, preferably with a professional sports team or in a related industry. Proven expertise with industry-standard cameras and recording devices (e.g., Canon C100/5D, Panasonic P2, Zoom H4N, GoPro). Experience producing live events and sports news programs. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) or similar editing software. Strong understanding of video production workflows and post-production techniques. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A passion for sports and storytelling.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regularly requires sitting, talking, and hearing. Occasionally requires standing and walking. Moderate noise level in the work environment. May require travel for away games and events. May require work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.
