Summary

This role will manage a high volume of graphic design work with a focus on supporting all marketing efforts through the design of forward-thinking creative graphics that maintains the Columbus Blue Jackets brand across all platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with the creative and marketing team to fulfill creative-related requests within the organization including but not limited to the design of original creative elements supporting Marketing Initiatives, In-Arena Graphics, Ticketing Sales Collateral, Community and Fan Development Assets, Corporate Partnerships Request, etc.
  • Assist Senior Graphic Designer and Director of Marketing with specialty and organizational projects supporting marketing, ticketing and digital content initiatives.
  • Work with Corporate Partnership and Activation Team for sponsorship proposals and recaps. This includes the creation of mockups that will involve PowerPoint, photography and photoshop.
  • Create templates and design branding for the social media team to use for games, corporate entitlements and other organizational programs.
  • Assist the Senior Graphic Designer and Director of Marketing on ideation and evolution of the Blue Jackets brand aesthetic while supporting the overall brand direction.
  • Assists in maintaining approved design policies including logo usage, graphic standards, etc. through the adherence and enforcement of organizational brand guidelines and policies.
  • Maintains knowledge of creative brand trends and best practices

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in marketing, fine arts, or graphic design from four-year college or university; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training, preferably within the sports industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of macOS and be proficient in Windows. Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects. Strong photography retouching skills (Photoshop or Lightroom).


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position is located at Nationwide Arena.
