PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Editor, Video Production (PTYR) contributes to the production and organization of video content for the Cleveland Guardians organization. This role involves shooting, editing, and creating video packages that drive fan engagement and tell compelling stories. Responsibilities include curating production footage, assisting with project management, and contributing to the overall workflow and productivity of the production team.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Video Production

  • Create engaging and entertaining scoreboard videos such as: hype videos, player loops, pre-game content and other in-game entertainment as needed
  • Produce “day-of” video content captured for playback in-game and/or social media
  • Collaborate with seasonal shooters, oversee production workflow, and supervise quick turn edits as needed
  • Assist with equipment inventory and logs
  • Film game day and special events content (i.e., fans, community events) as assigned
  • Quickly turn around video packages under tight deadlines
  • Think creatively, innovate, and bring new, fresh ideas to the creative production team
  • Other duties as assigned

Video Asset Management

  • Assist with maintaining a digital video asset library for the production team
  • Curate and distribute production footage all year, from Spring Training through post-season
  • Manage the collection and distribution of broadcast highlight footage
  • Obtain and/or archive footage upon request, both internally and externally
  • Organize and edit production highlights from seasonal shooters, maintaining detailed footage log, and creating shared projects with the best footage

Production Assistance

  • Support the video needs of other departments, such as marketing, to help with organizational requests
  • Manage and fulfill scoreboard footage requests for stakeholders such as corporate partners, community, etc.
  • Support Manager, Video Production through assistant editing, organization of seasonal shooters, and project management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcasting, Video Production, or related field – or equivalent professional experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with vast knowledge of Premiere Pro or comparable editing software
  • Demonstrated video production and editing skills and experience
  • Knowledge of various cameras and audio equipment
  • Knowledge of video compression and file formats

  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively able to work under deadline pressure
  • Ability to work infrequent games. as needed

  • Occasional physical activity such as lifting and carrying boxes up to 50 lbs.
