JOB SUMMARY:

Rock Entertainment Group is seeking a talented '2024-25 Seasonal Assistant, Social Media' to help create, conceptualize and manage content that will be distributed across Rock Entertainment Sports Network social media platforms to achieve organizational goals. We are looking for a candidate that holds a strong passion for and knowledge of digitally-driven news, social media trends, and content marketing. The role will collaborate with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Digital Content Team to build and develop compelling content that resonates with various audiences, while possessing a strong attention-to-detail within a fast-paced environment.

  • This is a temporary position that will conclude at the end of July 2025.
  • Candidates MUST have flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and occasional Holidays.
  • Local candidates preferred. There is no relocation assistance provided for seasonal positions.
  • This role will work onsite a minimum of 40 hours per week.

PAY RATE: $15.00/HR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content Creation and Management:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the network's brand and goals
  • Create engaging, timely content across platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube that is consistent with the overall Rock Entertainment Group brand
  • Live tweet and post real-time updates during sporting events and broadcasts
  • Produce short-form video content optimized for social platforms
  • Manage the social media content calendar, ensuring consistent posting schedules
  • Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to promote new shows, special events, and RESN network initiatives
  • Help create sponsored content that seamlessly integrates with organic posts
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms in sports media

Community Engagement:

  • Monitor social media channels and respond to fan comments and messages in a timely manner
  • Engage with followers to build an active online community around the RESN network
  • Identify and interact with influencers and key accounts in the sports media space
  • Run contests, polls, and other interactive content to boost engagement
  • Coordinate with on-air talent to leverage their social presence
  • Assist in developing social media guidelines for network staff and talent

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Track key social media metrics and KPIs using analytics tools
  • Provide regular reports to RESN management on social media performance and growth
  • Use data insights to optimize content strategy and improve engagement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in journalism, communications or web-related field; or at least 1-2 years of experience.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation as work locations may vary.
  • Experience producing written, video, audio, and graphic-based content.
  • Experience creating, posting, and sharing content across current social media platforms.
  • Working knowledge with HTML and Adobe Web Premium programs such as: Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or related video editing platform.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences.
  • Superior attention to detail and proof-reading experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and under close direction.
  • Must be organized, highly motivated and team-oriented.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-oriented workplace.
  • Knowledge of basketball is preferred, but not necessary.
