The Chicago Bulls are seeking a highly motivated, organized and dedicated person to fill the position of Manager of Event Production. This role will primarily be responsible for leading production of all Bulls events and activations including: non-game day events, game-day operations and pre-game hospitality, and fan experiences and activations.
As the Manager of Event Production, you will be a part of a dynamic, dedicated, and hardworking team that brings the Bulls brand to life in over 150 pre-game corporate hospitality events, pre-game Atrium and Concourse programming, as well as over 200 non-game day grassroots, community relations and experiential marketing promotions annually. The ideal candidate has relevant experience in corporate or lifestyle events, is self-motivated, thrives under pressure, works well in a fast-paced industry, and has a passion for event production, execution, and logistics.
Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of event production, including: vendor management, venue/UC communication, production scheduling and staffing, event logistics etc.
Under the direction of the Director of Event Production & Activation Strategy, assist in scheduling all building-related bookings and coordinate day-to-day and event operations to fulfill event objectives, including production vendor sourcing (A/V, Lighting, etc) and technical communication
Oversee pre-game Atrium and Concourse activation programming and production
Lead Bulls game-day operations and work with internal Bulls Departments such as Partnership Marketing and Marketing for pre-game experiences to be reflective of fan feedback, and streamlined with the in-bowl experience.
Compile organization’s operational needs (e.g. Ticket Sales, Partnerships, Community Relations) into building and production notes and communicate to United Center staff.
Provide production direction and support at team events, such as: sponsor functions, viewing parties and community events, etc. Based on event tier, work with Senior Producer or Executive Director on programming and write/distribute event rundowns and scripts.
Lead event production meetings with internal departments for final review of run of show and logistics.
Supervise the Coordinator of Event Production, providing adequate training and feedback for growth to ultimately develop them as back-up event directors.
Maintain the highest level of integrity when representing the Chicago Bulls, United Center and team partners.
Qualifications:
Key Experience / Achievements
Three to five (3-5) years of experience in production under stadium, arena, convention center, hotel or public assembly facility setting or special event/festival environment
Experience leading production staff, from concept generation to development and outstanding execution
Knowledge of operational characteristics of events
General knowledge of venue operations or live event production preferred
Ability to work nights and weekends and flexibility to work remote 1-2 days per week
Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Project Management, Business Administration or related field
Management Skills
Creative and innovative thinker who can build actionable plans
Ability to lead, empower and provide constructive feedback to team members for constant improvement
At least two years of experience as a people manager
Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and has outstanding follow through
Strong interpersonal skills, handling multiple tasks in a year-round environment
Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and circumstances without difficulty
Technical / Functional Proficiencies
Intermediate technical audio visual knowledge is required
Knowledge of venue operations and facility management is a plus
Knowledge of live production techniques
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
AutoCAD or Sho-Flo experience is a plus
Ability to travel when required
