THE POSITION
The Manager, Telus Club, Dutton’s, and Stamps House is responsible for leading restaurant operations, maintaining a superior level of quality and service in a fast-paced atmosphere that demonstrates the Calgary Sports and Entertainment core values. Ensure satisfied and entertained customers; while creating an environment that customers would return too during intermission and future events, generating a profitable food & beverage location within the Saddledome.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Create and propose menu changes and selections in conjunction with the Executive Chef;
- Review and propose Wine List selections and/or changes to the Director, Restaurants and Suites;
- Review and revise server manuals on an annual basis;
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train and schedule staff;
- Convey and enforce all company policies;
- Actively participate in safety programs and follow polices;
- Provide a safe working environment for both guests and employees through regular maintenance of the assigned area, while maintaining all equipment in good working conditions;
- Provide and maintain the integrity of all financial controls, ensuring security of all company assets, both negotiable and non-negotiable;
- Covey and exercise all policies associated with the sale of Responsible Alcohol;
- Ensure employees are provided performance feedback on a regular basis;
- Resolve credit card and billing discrepancies;
- Oversee staffing levels and adjust labour requirements as needed;
- Provide an accurate account of all classifications of beverage inventories, while verifying the cost of sales;
- Compile and forward all payable items on a regular basis to Finance;
- Ensure set up of all events is satisfactory;
- Correct any cash or computer errors caused either by human or mechanical means;
- Communicate daily specials and other business related information to employees prior to opening of restaurants;
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the event, responding to complaints or comments, or queries about facilities;
- All other duties and projects as assigned.
THE INDIVIDUAL
The ideal individual will have the following background:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to ensure deadlines and planning needs are met per event;
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal);
- The ability to work in a team environment that thrives on customer service experiences;
- Knowledge and experience using Point of Sales software such as Quest;
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills,
- 5-8 years of supervising experience;
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
Certifications
- Diploma in hospitality or business administration is a must;
- ProServe Certification is mandatory.
