THE POSITION
The Assistant Manager, Suites is responsible to provide leadership to our food service team to deliver an exciting fan experience in a service-focused environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Deliver exceptional guest service;
- Conduct and assist with recruiting, hiring, training and development of new and existing staff;
- Provide guidance and disciplinary action to suite team members as required;
- Exhibits a ‘hands on’ approach to the supervision of the department;
- Communicate and enforce all company policies;
- Support the Manager, Suites budgets and forecasting to ensure targets are met or exceeded;
- Ensure a safe environment for both guests and employees through regular maintenance of the assigned areas;
- Supervise the execution of elevated Food and Beverage Services Fan experience within the Upper and Lower Level Suites, Platinum Club and Alumni Lounge in the Scotiabank Saddledome and Suites, Lofts and TELUS End Zone at McMahon Stadium;
- Complete financial reconciliation of events and the resolution of credit card and billing discrepancies;
- Ensure the implementation of nightly and month end inventory reconciliation is adhered to and calculates cost of sales;
- Support point of sale work to include maintenance of the system and general updating in coordination with system administrator;
- Communicate event details with Food Service Team on a regular basis;
- Coordinate the ordering of all required inventory and supplies with the Warehouse and Manager, Suites for equipment supplies;
- Monitor staff levels, adjusting labor as required, optimizing customer service and labor cost control;
- Active participation in the Safety Program and follow all safety rules;
- All other duties as assigned.
THE INDIVIDUAL
The ideal individual will have the following background:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to ensure deadlines and planning needs are met per event;
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal);
- The ability to work in a team environment that thrives on customer service experiences;
- Knowledge and experience using Point of Sales software such as Quest;
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills,
- Minimum 2 years of supervising experience;
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
Certifications
- Diploma in hospitality or business administration is a must;
- ProServe Certification is mandatory.
