Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager on a fixed term basis to manage a variety of projects alongside leading some project management processes across the Commercial Function. These projects will primarily be focused on transforming how we connect and engage with our supporters locally and globally, through our digital platforms, membership proposition, the stadium or our retail outlets.

Your day-to-day

  • Successfully delivering projects to time, plan and budget.
  • Managing transformation projects from start to finish for both physical and digital projects.
  • Project planning and coordination: Developing and owning project plans, defining project objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines. Coordinate project activities and tasks to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Tracking project progress and providing clear communication of progress and issues to project stakeholders.
  • Risk management: Identifying project risks, issues, and dependencies, and developing effective risk mitigation strategies. Proactively monitoring and addressing risks throughout the project lifecycle to minimise their impact on project timeline and deliverables.
  • Identifying and coordinating key stakeholders required for project execution, driving team members to meet project goals and milestones.
  • Effectively tracking project costs and ensuring adherence to budgetary requirements, working in collaboration with Finance and the wider team.
  • Leading project management processes for the Project Management Office across the Commercial function e.g. reporting, risk management, budget tracking, change control or governance.
  • Ensure that ED&I lens is consistently reviewed across all projects to meet the ED&I ambitions of the Club.


What we are looking for

  • Experience of successfully delivering projects to time, plan and budget.
  • A strong knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • APM, Prince2 or PMI qualification (Desirable).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Broad project management skillset including reporting, planning, governance, budget management and risk and issue management.
  • Previously delivered with both agile and waterfall methodologies. Able to adapt approach to get the best outcome on a project by project basis.
  • Experience in leading the coordination of project management processes across a function e.g. reporting, risk management or governance.
  • Great communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build impactful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to analyse the project activities, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, and ensuring they are in hand.
